Lutnick Epstein Ties, ICE Defends Deadly Raids
Following the release of millions of additional papers, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick attempted to minimize his connections to Jeffrey Epstein during his testimony before a Senate committee on Tuesday. Despite his assertion that he had "barely anything to do" with Epstein, the emails in the files showed that, in contrast to his earlier statements of severing connections in 2005, Lutnick had lunch with Epstein in 2012 and invited him to a fundraiser in 2015. Meanwhile, the head of ICE and other top immigration authorities justified federal officers' shooting deaths of two U.S. citizens in Minneapolis. As they carry out President Trump's plan, the officials refused to apologize in the face of harsh criticism from Democrats over "lawlessness" and mass deportation practices. They said they would not be "intimidated" by politicians or protestors.
